Nevuchadnetzar, the king of Bavel, overcame Yehoyakim, king of Yehudah, making him subservient to him.

Hashem sent a host of foreign nations to destroy Yisrael. This was punishment for the innocent blood that King Menashe had shed.

Yehoyachin, at age eighteen, reigned three months in Yerushalayim.

Nevuchadnetzar laid siege to the nation.

Nevuchadnetzar exiled almost the entire nation to Bavel. The only members who remained in Eretz Yisrael were the uneducated Jews.

The king of Bavel appointed Tzidkiyahu (Yehoyachin’s uncle) as the new king over the remaining people in Yerushalayim.

Tzidkiyahu, at age twenty two, reigned eleven years over Yershalayim.

Tzidkiyahu did what was evil in the eyes of Hashem.

Tzidkiyahu tried to rebel against the king of Bavel.
