In the ninth year of the reign of king Tzidkiyahu, Nevuchadnetzar, king of Bavel, laid siege to Yerushalayim. (Note: this resulted in the fast of the 10th of Teves.)

The famine became dire and the city was breached.

Tzidkiyahu was captured and his eyes were poked out by Nevuchadnetzar. Tzidkiyahu’s children were murdered before his eyes.

Nevuchadnetzar and Nevuzaradan, the chief executioner, entered Yerushalayim.

They burnt down the Beis Hamikdash and exiled almost the entire Yehudah to Bavel. ( Note: this resulted in the fast of Tisha Ba’av.)

The only people who remained in Eretz Yisrael were the uneducated ones.

The vessels of the Beis Hamikdash were looted, as well.

Nevuzaradan murdered several men of royal lineage and sixty commoners.

Nevuchadnetzar appointed Gedalyahu ben Achikam to rule over the small minority who remained in Yehudah.

Gedalyahu was the last hope for the nation. Gedalyahu urged the people to pledge allegiance to Nevuchadnetzar, to guarantee their safety.

Gedalyahu was murdered by Yishmael ben Netanyah. (Note: this resulted in the fast of Gedalyah.)

Yehoyachin, king of Judah, who was placed in jail by the king of Bavel, was released after thirty seven years.

Yehoyachin ate at the table of the king of Bavel for the rest of his life.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE FINISHED! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
