Amos Perek 8

  • Hashem shows Amos a vision of a basket of summer fruit. Note: According to Radak, the word for summer is “kayitz” which is the same word as “keytz,” meaning the end.

  • Because Yisrael is coming to an end!

  • Hashem will no longer forgive His nation.

  • The nation constantly exploits the poor and the destitute.

  • God won’t forget how Yisrael has acted.

  • The entire earth will quake!

  • On that ultimate day, the sun will set early and the earth will be darkened.

  • On that Day, there will be a famine in the land, it won’t be for bread or water but people will be starving to hear the word of God.

  • Throughout the world people will be wandering, trying to satisfy their thirst for the word of God.
