Amos Perek 6

· This perek is a prophecy of harsh destruction.

· “Woe unto Yisrael who trusted in their alliance with other nations and not in God. (Rashi)

· “Judging by Yisrael’s actions, they would seem no different than the nations of the world.

· “They promote injustice throughout the land.

· “They have become spoiled due to their extravagant life style.

· “They have the audacity to sit back and sing songs as if they were Dovid Hamelech!

· “The nation indulges in its base desires.

· “Therefore, Yisrael has become despicable to Me!

· “Yisrael will be punished for what they have done.”

· God will send another nation to take Yisrael into exile, off of their land, as punishment for their actions and attitudes.
