Amos Perek 2

Perek 2 is a continuation of the previous perek.

• First Hashem focused on the nations of the world in the hopes that the Jewish nation would learn from what was happening around them and do teshuvah. Then Hashem turned inwards, toward Am Yisrael. (Alshich Hakadosh)

• God will judge Moav.

• God will punish Yehudah because they should have known better.

• God will punish Yisrael.

• Yisrael has become corrupt.

• Yisrael’s judges take bribes and distort the truth.

• Fathers take their sons to prostitutes to commit immoral acts, to justify their own behaviors.

• Ultimately, Yisrael should have known better because God had done so many wonderful things for them, like giving them Eretz Yisrael and takeing them out of Egypt.

• Yisrael will be punished.
