Summary and Transcription
Hoshea Perek 12
-
Yehudah is considered righteous compared to Efraim (the ten tribes) who are filled with falsehood.
-
Efraim has trusted in his alliance with Ashur and Egypt for help, and not in God!
-
However, God is also upset with Yehudah, who should also know better.
-
The Navi relates that the entire nation ultimately comes from the illustrious Yaakov who was a man of God. It was Yaakov who held onto Esav’s heel, and Yaakov who wrestled with Esav’s angel.
-
God had sent the nation great prophets but the nation didn’t listen to those prophets.
-
“I, God, have been with you since you were in Egypt and I have given you so much good. But you still fail to follow Me!”
-
Efraim will be punished and will be engulfed in bloodshed.
