• This perek is rebuke to the ten tribes of Yisrael for filling the land with falsehood.

• The leaders and the kohanim of the nation are corrupt and will therefore be punished.

• The nation and leaders have fallen into a pattern of lying, stealing, idol worship and prostitution.

• God will punish Yisrael with exile.
