Yechezkel Perek 31

• Perek 31 is another prophecy against Egypt.

• Egypt should have learned from the destruction of Ashur to mend their ways.

• The Navi relates the original greatness of Ashur, contrasting it with how low they kept falling until their destruction.

• Ashur had become filled with arrogance, thinking they were God. They were therefore destroyed.

• Egypt, who is in a similar position as Ashur was, should have learned from Ashur, but they didn’t. Therefore they, too, will be killed.
