Yechezkel Perek 23

• This perek is a parable about two sisters who sold themselves as prostitutes and were exceedingly immoral. The two sisters represent the Shomron and Yerushalayim who have “cheated” on God by worshiping idols.

• The older sister’s name is Ohalah which represents the Shomron.

• The younger sister’s name is Ohalevah which represents Yerushalayim.

• These two sisters have desired men of other nations and have done everything in their power to have an intimate relationship with them.

• The younger sister Ohalevah (Yerushalayim) is considered worse than her older sister, Ohalah (Shomron), because she should have learned from her older sister the punishment that she will incur if she keeps to her immoral ways, but she didn’t. (Metsudos)

• Hashem will give these sisters over to the objects of their lusts and desires.

• They will be punished for their actions.
