It is beyond the scope of NachDaily to properly address this perek and many of the other visions throughout Sefer Yechezkel. The NachDaily summary is meant to familiarize the reader/listener with what occurred in the Navi. It is NOT a comprehensive explanation. Nonen of this should be taken litteraly. Chazal put strict sanctions on learning the “workings of the Chariot”. (Chagiga 11a)

  • Yechezkel saw the vision of the Heavenly Chariot while in exile on the river Kvar.

  • The vision occurred during the fifth year that King Yehoyachin was in exile in Bavel.

  • Yechzekel saw the secrets of the Chashmal, four Chayos (angels) each with four faces, shaped like a human, with the face of a human, the face of a lion, the face of a fox, and the face of an eagle. They each had four wings, two above and two below. They appeared like fire with lightening shooting out of them. They had straight feet with bronze hooves. Their wings were all intertwined…

  • The Navi continues to describe Yechezkel’s amazing, wondrous and radiant vision of the Heavenly Chariot.

  • Yechezkel then fell on his face and heard a voice speaking.
