Shmuel I Perek 26

• The people of Ziph had informed Shaul as to where Dovid was hiding for the 2nd time.

• Shaul came with 3,000 soldiers.

• Dovid was on top of maintain and noticed the entire camp of Shaul sleeping including Shaul and Avner (Shaul’s General.)

• Avishai ben Tsruya volunteered to head into the King Shaul’s camp together with Dovid.

• Once in King Shaul’s camp they saw King Shaul sleeping next to his spear and water flask.

• Dovid ordered Avishai not to kill King Shaul.

• Dovid stole King Shaul’s spear and water flask.

• Dovid left the camp and stood on top of mountain.

• Dovid shouted to wake up Avner and King Shaul.

• Dovid showed Avner the king’s spear and water flask. Dovid shamed and chastised Avner for not protecting King Shaul.

• Dovid related he could have killed King Shaul but chose not to. This should be a sign that Dovid means no harm to the king.

• Shaul blessed Dovid for being more than gracious and not killing him twice.

• Dovid returned the spear and water flask back to King Shaul.
