• After Shmuel departed from Yonatan, Dovid fled to Achimelech the Kohen in the city of Nov.

• Dovid told Achimelech he is on a secret mission from King Shaul. Dovid explained that he left in haste and does not have food or weapons.

• Achimelech gave Dovid left over bread from the Lechem HaPanim and the sword of Goliath as a weapon.

• Unbeknown to Achimelech and Dovid, Doeg Ha’adomi the shepherd of Shaul saw the event that transpired.

• Dovid fled to Achash king of Gas.

• Dovid started to act insane. Dovid changed his appearance, drooled on his beard, wrote on the walls and acted as a way of deceiving King Achash that he was not Dovid.

• King Achash was fooled and Dovid fled.
