• Yonason the son of Shaul loved Dovid like he loved himself.

• Shaul conscripted Dovid to the army and did not permit Dovid to return home.

• Dovid was promoted to a high-ranking officer.

• After a battle women would chant “Shaul killed 1,000 and Dovid killed 10,000”.

• This caused Shaul to be jealous (on his level).

• Shaul hurled a spear at Dovid twice while Dovid was in the middle of playing music for Shaul as an attempt to kill Dovid.

• Shaul feared Dovid because Shaul knew Hashem was with Dovid.

• Dovid was demoted in levels ranking officers.

• All of Yisrael loved Dovid.

• Shaul initially told Dovid to marry Merov (Shaul’s daughter). Shaul had tricked Dovid and married Merov off to Adriel instead.

• Shaul commanded Dovid to collect 100 Plishti foreskins in order to marry Michal (Shaul’s younger daughter).

• Dovid accepted the challenge and returned to Shaul with 200 Plishti foreskins!

• Dovid married Michal.

• Dovid was more successful than any other of Shaul’s officers.
