• The Plishtim instigated a war against Yisrael.

• Golias a 13-foot tall giant would taunt Yisrael everyday.

• Golias’s armor weighed 250 Lbs. And spear weighed 30 Lbs.

• Yishai told Dovid to deliver food to his brothers battalions and inquire about his brothers’ wellbeing.

• Dovid overheard in the camp about how Yisrael was scared of Golias.

• Dovid heard whoever would defeat Golias would 1) become wealthy. 2) Marry Shaul’s daughter. 3) Free family from military service.

• Eliav, Dovid’s older brother rebuked Dovid for thinking Dovid can kill Golias

• Dovid approached Shaul and requested to fight against Golias.

• Shaul denied Dovid’s request.

• Dovid convinced Shaul to let him fight against Golias. Dovid shared he was a shepherd and would regularly kill lions and bears with his bare hands. Dovid explained he only fears Hashem and nothing else.

• Shaul dressed Dovid in Shaul’s personal armor. Dovid removed the armor, as the army was too big.

• Dovid grabbed his slingshot and 5 stones.

• Dovid and Golias approached each other while both shouting disgraceful remarks at each other.

• Dovid shot one rock from his sling shot at Golias. The rock entered Golias’s head and killed Golias. Golias fell headfirst and Dovid chopped of Golias’s head.

• Shaul inquired as to whom Dovid’s father was. Dovid told Shaul Yishai was his Father.
