• King Nachash tried having the Jews of Yavesh Gilad submit themselves to him.

• The Elders of Yavesh Gilad requested 7 days to ask for help from Yisrael and if no one would answer their request they would agree to submission.

• The message reached the new King Shaul.

• King Shaul sent 2 oxen cut in half throughout Yisrael. Shaul related who ever does not come to battle their fate will by like the oxen.

• 330,000 members of Yisrael answer the battle call.

• Under the new reign of King Shaul, King Nachash is destroyed before the heat of the day.

• Shmuel had the nation reaffirm their allegiance to Shaul in Gilgal in a celebratory manner.
