· Dovid wanted to build the Beis Hamikdash.
· Nosson the prophet initially affirmed Dovid’s desire.
· That night Nosson received a prophecy telling him that it was not yet time for the Beis Hamikdash to be built. The Beis Hamikdash was to be built by one of Dovid’s children.
· Hashem told Dovid through Nosson that He would perform great kindnesses to Dovid and his family. Hashem expressed His love for Dovid and He made Dovid’s name great and renowned throughout the entire world. Hashem told Dovid the kingdom would be established through Dovid’s family for all of eternity.
· Dovid humbly accepted Hashem’s words. Dovid thanked Hashem and prayed to Hashem to shine divine light upon Yisroel. In doing so, Dovid described Hashem’s great love for Am Yisrael.
