Bullet Point Summary
· Dovid gathered 30,000 men to bring the Ark of Hashem back to Yerushalayim.
· The Ark was placed on a new wagon, which was pulled by oxen.
· Uzah and Achyo were given the task to escort the Ark. Uzah and Achyo were not from the tribe of Levy, which was designated to carry the Ark.
· The oxen dislodged the Ark, and Uzah reached out to the Ark to prevent it from falling. Hashem killed Uzah for treating the Ark disrespectfully
Note: The Ark “carried itself” and did not need anyone to carry it. The Ark only appeared to be falling because Hashem was angry that the Ark was being transported by oxen.
· Dovid, feeling responsible for the breach in respect in the transport of the Ark, humbly diverted the Ark to the home of Oved Edom for three months. Hashem blessed Oved Edom and his entire household.
· The Ark was moved three months later to Yerushalayim.
· Sacrifices were brought as the Ark proceeded to Yerushalayim, and all of Yisrael celebrated together.
· Dovid danced with all his strength in front of Yisrael and he blessed all of Yisrael.
· Michal was embarrassed as she watched from the window.
· After the celebration was over Michal rebuked Dovid for dancing like a simpleton in front of Yisrael.
· Dovid responded harshly to Michal. Dovid told her that he was dancing in front of Hashem!
· From that day on Michal had no more children.
