• Dovid asked Hashem through the Urim V’tumim if he should go back to Eretz Yisroel.

• Hashem told Dovid to return to Eretz Yisroel, specifically to the city Chevron, belonging to the tribe of Yehudah.

• Dovid was informed how the people of Yavesh Gilad had rescued King Shaul’s body and had given King Shaul a proper burial.

• Dovid told the people of Yavesh Hilad that he would protect them and he blessed them.

• Avner ben Ner (King Shaul’s general) anointed Ish Boshes, son of Yonason, as the king of Binyamin and Yisrael.

• Ish Boshes was 40 years old and ruled over Yisrael for 2 ½ years. Dovid reigned over Yehudah for 7 ½ years.

• There was a twelve against twelve fight between General Avner’s soldiers and General Yoav’s soldiers at a pool in Givone.

• All 24 men killed each other in the crossfire.

• Tsruya had three sons- Yoav, Avishai, and Asahel. Asahel was as swift and fast as a deer.

• Asahel pursued Avner to cause him harm.

• Avner, after warning Asahel to retreat, killed him.

• Avner found Yoav and called for a truce.

• Yoav consented. Yoav blew the Shofar. The civil war had ended.

• 20 men from Dovid’s’ camp were killed in the battle. 360 men from King Shaul’s camp were killed the battle.

• Asahel was given a proper burial.
