Yeshaya Perek 28

• Yeshaya criticized the leaders of the 10 tribes of Yisrael for becoming “alcoholics” and following their base desires.

• A tidal wave, Sancheriv, will come and “flood you” out of the northern kingdom.

• The “beautiful flower” of Yisrael in the northern kingdom will have wilted.

• Hashem will send King Chizkiyahu to Yehudah in Yerushalayim to restore the crown of Hashem.

• The leaders of the ten tribes protested that they felt that they were being treated like children.

• Yeshaya continued his rebuke and responded that the leaders deserved to be treated like children because they acted like little children! The Torah will be taught to them line by line, word by word.

• Death will come upon those who mock Hashem.

• Hashem will reestablish the cornerstone of Tzion. Meforshim learn that this refers to King Chizkiyahu, who will restore the nation to its purity.

• Yeshaya related a parable comparing Hashem to a gardener and Yisrael to the seeds which Hashem plants.
