Yeshaya Perek 26

• This perek is the song that Yisrael will sing after the war of Gog Umagog.

• On that day a song will be sung throughout the land of Yehudah. Rashi, Metsudos and Radak say that Yerushalayim will be Yisrael’s forever.

• It is fitting to trust in Hashem for all eternity!

• Yeshaya yearns for the justice of Hashem, for the wicked to be punished, and for tzadikim to be rewarded.

• Yeshaya prays to Hashem for peace and redemption: “Hashem please give us peace. You’ve ruled over us. We’ve been punished for our sins. You are the Master of the World.

• Am Yisrael has remembered You in the most difficult of circumstances. Like a pregnant woman about to give birth, Am Yisrael has called out to You. Hashem, it seems like our prayers did not help at all!

• Bring the dead back to life! Wake up the sleeping bodies, dead in the ground! Cover them with your special dew of light.” All the meforshim explain: this is a direct reference to t’chiyas hamaisim – resurrection that will take place after Mashiach comes.

• Yeshaya instructed Yisrael to hide until Hashem’s wrath had subsided.
