Bullet Point Summary
Yeshaya Perek 5
-
Yeshaya received a harsh prophecy about Hashem’s relationship with Yisrael. Even though the message of the prophecy was harsh, the “feelings” of it were warm, as this prophecy was said in the form of a song.
-
Yisrael is compared to a vineyard. The vineyard was planted with the best of intentions. However, since the vineyard produced inferior grapes it was left to rot. Hashem had the best intentions with Yisrael; however He was “disappointed” when Yisrael did not “produce”.
-
Note: all sins are “on their level”, as Hashem would never abandon the Jewish nation.
-
Woe to those who stay out all night going to parties and “clubbing”, as this addiction has caused a person to forget about Hashem. (Note: this is meant with sensitivity to our subscribers as it’s just “borrowing” the words of Yeshaya.)
-
Woe, as fire consumes straw, Hashem’s wrath will be poured on Yisrael.
