Read the text of Yirmiyahu 32
Bullet Point Summary
Yirmiya Perek 32
Note: Yirmiya received this prophecy in the tenth year of King Tzidkiya’s reign. Yerushalayim was already under siege by Nevuchadnetzar. Tzidkiya had also placed Yirmiya in jail for prophesying about the exile and destruction.
Hashem told Yirmiya to purchase land in Anasos from his relative Chanamel. The purchasing of the land was to symbolize that the Jews will one day return to Eretz Yisrael.
Yirmiya followed Hashem’s orders and gave all the related documentation to his student, Baruch ben Neriya.
Yirmiya prays to Hashem and relates Hashem’s greatness: “You made the heavens and the earth!”
Hashem relates that He is disgusted by the behaviors of Klal Yisrael and therefore they will be thrown out of their land.
Yirmiya prophesies about the final redemption when the Jews will return to Eretz Yisrael.
Hashem will then reveal his love for Am Yisrael.
