Yirmiya Perek 46

Note: Perek 46 through perek 51 are prophecies that address the nations of the world.

Note #2: The role of the prophet was not only for the benefit of the Jewish people, but it was also for the nations of the world, as the whole world will eventually come to recognize the God of Yisrael as the true God of the world.

A prophecy about how Hashem will punish Egypt, through Bavel:

Pharaoh Necho of Egypt will be defeated by Nevuchadnetzar.

Yirmiya relates in a sarcastic manner: “Egypt, get your chariots and army ready for war, because you have one coming.

“Hashem will exact vengeance from His enemies.

“Egypt will be embarrassed by Nevuchadnetzar’s army.

“However, Yisrael, do not be afraid. I will redeem you from among the nations of the world and I will bring you back to Eretz Yisrael.”
