Malachi Perek 2

This perek relates how the kohanim and levi’im had become corrupt and how intermarriage had started to spread throughout the land.

“Kohanim, serve Me with sincerity and start being mindful when you serve Me!

“Your sacrifices are considered disgusting to Me.

“The levi’im are also guilty of the same charges! I made a treaty with them and they failed to keep their end of the deal!

“The levi’im will be punished.

“My Torah is the Torah of truth.”

Malachi then turns his attention to the intermarriage that was becoming rampant.

“Why would you choose a woman from another nation?!

“The entire Jewish nation has one father – Hashem!

“Stop following your passions and low-level desires!”

The Navi continues to relate how the tribe of Yehudah has been unfaithful and served idols.

What makes matters even worse is that they serve idols in Yerushalayim, of all places!

“Not only that,” Malachi tells the nation, ” if you hate the bride of your youth, you should divorce her.

And if you hate God, you should stop cheating on Him, and abandon Him. Don’t dance in both worlds!”
