Malachi Perek 3

With this lesson we finish the entire Navi! Words cannot express the magnitude of this accomplishment. Whether you learned a little or a lot, Hashem is certainly smiling upon you! We await the day when Mashiach ben Dovid and Eliyahu Hanavi will reveal themselves to the entire world, when the whole world will do teshuva and see Hashem’s presence in this world with no obscuring veil, when the healing rays of the sun will shine upon humanity, and the world will reach its final tikun and elevation, when all will serve Hashem whole-heartedly, when death will no longer exist and all sick people will be healed, when weapons will be turned into plowshares and wars will cease to exist. The Torah will shine forth from Tzion and the knowledge of God will fill the earth, like the waters that cover the sea. No one will fear or be harmed on Hashem’s Holy Mountain and Yechezekel’s visions of the third Temple being built and the dry bones of Yisrael coming back to life in Eretz Yisrael come true. The healing waters will begin to emerge from the Temple Mount, purify the world, and sprout healing leaves for mankind. The previously cast-aside nation Yisrael will come singing and dancing to Tzion with eternal joy in their minds. All sadness and depression will be replaced with happiness.

It is certainly fitting to sing and dance in the streets on the occasion of this amazing accomplishment.

This perek describes the day of judgment that will come upon the world, rebukes the nation for not keeping the Torah, and prophesies the return of Eliyahu Hanavi.

Hashem will send an angel to protect Yisrael from their enemies. Ibn Ezra explains that this refers to Mashiach ben Yosef.

Who can withstand the day of judgment?!

Hashem will purify and refine the tribe of Levi, as one refines gold and silver.

In the time of Mashiach the korbanos of Yehudah, which will be brought in Yerushalayim, will once again be pleasing to Hashem.

“Then I will bring close all those who need to be judged.

“Return to Me and I will return to you.

” Do teshuvah for stealing and for not giving proper ma’aser tithes.”

The Navi now turns his attention to a prophecy regarding the difference between the God-fearing and the wicked in the time of Mashiach.

Hashem says, “The God-fearing people will be with Me and I will reward them.

“On that great day, the wicked will burn like straw!”

Hashem will heal the world with healing rays of sun.

Hashem will motivate the children to return the hearts of their parents to Him, and in return, the parents will guide their children to return to Him.

On that awesome day Hashem will send us Eliyahu Hanavi!

YOU DID IT! YOU FINISHED THE ENTIRE NAVI!
