• Elisha told the woman whose child he had brought back to life that there was going to be a famine in Eretz Yisrael for seven years, and that she should leave Eretz Yisrael for the time being.

• Seven years later, the woman returned to the king of Yisrael to ask for the return of her land.

• At that very moment, Gaichazi was in the process of telling the king of Yisrael the stories of the miracles that Elisha had performed.

• When Gaichazi saw the woman enter, he exclaimed, “Here is the very lady and her child that I just told you about!” Yehoram, King of Yisrael, returned the land to the woman.

• Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, became ill and sent his servant, Chaza’el, to ask Elisha if he would recover.

• Elisha told Chaza’el to report to Ben-Hadad that he would live, but the truth was that he would actually die. (Metzudos)

• Elisha started crying in front of Chaza’el. Upon being questioned by Chaza’el, he explained that he saw through prophecy that Chaza’el would be the next king of Aram, and that he would treat Yisrael viciously, killing all of the men, women and children.

• Ben Hadad, king of Aram, died.

• Yehoram, son of Yehoshaphat, ruled next over Yehudah for eight years. Yehoram did not follow in his father’s ways and did “evil in the eyes of Hashem.”

• Achazyah, son of Yehoram of Yehudah, ruled next for one year, at age 22.

• Achzayah of Yehudah joined Yehoram of Yisrael in battle against Edom.

• Yehoram of Yisrael was wounded in the battle and Achazyah of Yehudah paid him a visit.
