• Shaul continues to search for Dovid in the Mountains of Ein Gedi.

• Shaul went inside a cave to relieve himself.

• Unbeknownst to Shaul, Dovid and his men were located deep inside on the other side of the cave.

• Dovid defended Shaul to his men and told them not to lay a finger on the King of Yisrael.

• Dovid cut off a corner of Shaul’s robe and then left the cave.

• Dovid called out to King Shaul on the other side of the mountain.

• Dovid showed King Shaul the cut corner of his robe.

• Dovid related he could have killed King Shaul but wants no harm to come about the King of Yisrael.

• King Shaul was grateful in return and acknowledged Dovid as the future king of Yisrael.

• Shaul made Dovid swear not to harm any of King Shaul’s ancestors.

• Dovid and Shaul departed from each other.
