Shmuel I Perek 25

· Shmuel HaNavi dies and the entire Yisrael came to his hometown of Ramah to mourn over the loss of Shmuel HaNavi.

· Naval was a wealthy businessman who did business in the town of Carmel.

· Naval was considered a revolting, cold hearted individual.

· Avigail (Naval’s wife) was a pleasant intelligent person.

· Naval threw a sheep shearing party with 3,000 sheep and 1,000 goats.

· Dovid sent messengers to request Naval provide food and protection for his men to repay the kindness Dovid had did for Naval (Dovid had taken care of all of Naval’s sheep for a period of time while Dovid was in Carmel.)

· Naval refused Dovid’s request and in a haughty fashion and even went as far as to question Dovid’s lineage.

· Dovid prepared to strike retribution upon Naval.

· It was related to Avigail about the incidents that transpired.

· Avigail prepared a gift basket for Dovid and travelled with her servants to meet up with Dovid to convince Dovid not to bring harm to Naval.

· Avigail met with Dovid and convinced Dovid not to harm Naval.

· Avigail told Naval about her meeting with Dovid after Naval sobered up from the party.

· Naval was shocked to find out.

· 10 days later Hashem made Naval die.

· Dovid took Avigail for a wife.

· Dovid was also married to Achinoam.

· Shaul gave away his daughter Michal to Palti Ben Laish (Shaul had considered the initial marriage to Dovid as halachically invalid and therefore gave away Michal to another man.)
