· After King Dovid was told not to build the Bais Hamikdash, Dovid went on conquering the surrounding nations.

· Dovid struck Moav the hardest, more than any other nation.

Rashi: Dovid acted with the most cruelty to Moav because Moav had killed Dovid’s entire family. Dovid had left his family in Moav for their safety when he fled from King Shaul, but Moav had betrayed Dovid and killed his family.

· The nations Dovid conquered were Aram, Moav, Ammon, Plishtim and Amalek.

· Dovid took a lot of gold, silver and copper from all the nations.

· Dovid also received golden and copper vessels as gifts from Yoram the son of Toi, King of Chamas.

· Dovid consecrated all of the wealth and spoils of war that he received to Hashem.

Note: much of the wealth obtained during these wars was used to build the Bais Hamikdash.

· King Dovid reigned over all of Yisrael. Hashem had made Dovid successful.
