Bullet Point Summary
Yechezkel Perek 11
-
Yechezkel saw for the second time (see perek 8) twenty-five men in the sanctuary of the Beis Hamikdash worshiping the sun. However, now he recognized them.
-
The Jews whom Yechezkel sees compare themselves to “meat” which God will save, and compare Yerushalayim to a “pot” which Hashem will destroy and discard.
-
Hashem tells Yechezkel that the reverse is true. The “meat” is Yerushalayim which Hashem will spare, and the “pot” is the residents of Yerushalayim whom Hashem will destroy.
-
Yechezkel witnesses a leader named P’talyahu die and he asks Hashem if He is going to destroy Am Yisrael.
-
The Navi prophesies about comfort and redemption:
-
“I will be with Am Yisrael throughout the exile, specifically in their shuls. (Radak, Rashi)
-
“One day I will gather all the exiles back to Eretz Yisrael. Note: the beginning of this has already begun to occur!
-
“I will give Yisrael one heart and invigorate them with the spirit to serve Me.
-
“I will remove their heart of stone and replace is with a heart of flesh.”
-
Yechezkel then describes Hashem’s chariot departing from the Beis Hamikdash.
-
Yechezkel shared his vision/prophecy with the Jews in exile.
