Yechezkel Perek 20

• This prophecy took place exactly five years prior to the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash.

• The elders of the generation came to ask Yechezkel to pray on their behalf. Note: Radak explains that the elders were not sincere.

• Hashem responded, “The elders don’t really want the truth!”

• “I, God, took you out of Egypt and did so much kindness for you. But you continued to forget about Me.

• I brought you to the glorious land of milk and honey, but you continue to serve idols and you do not keep My Torah.”

• The Navi relates in length how God kept on doing good for Am Yisrael, yet the nation didn’t keep to their side of the deal. They were supposed to adhere to the Torah and keep Shabbos.

• “God is upset and you deserve to be destroyed. God is inclined to punish you and completely wipe out Yisrael.”

• The Navi relates a prophecy of redemption.

• “I will bring you from your scattered exile back to Eretz Yisrael.

• “You will know that I am God when I bring you to Eretz Yisrael, to the land which I swore to give to your ancestors.”
