Yechezkel Perek 27

• Perek 27 is a lament on the city of Tyre.

• In this dirge Tyre is compared to a great ship which was made using the finest “technology” if its day, having the greatest rowers, weapons, shields and masts.

• The navi lists much of the merchandise that was found in Tyre including “t’chailes blue” and “argaman purple”.

• The great cities of the world all engaged in trade with Tyre.

• However Tyre will ultimately be destroyed and cease to exist.

• The nations of the world will be astounded when they witness the downfall of Tyre.
