Yechezkel Perek 44

• Perek 44 is a continuation of Yechezkel’s vision of the third Beis Hamikdash.

• Yechezkel was shown a gate that was to remain closed for the “Prince of Yisrael”. Rashi learns that the prince is a reference to the Kohen Gadol. The Radak learns that it’s a reference to Moshiach.

• Yechezkel saw the “Glory of God” enter the Beis Hamikdash.

• Yechezkel was told to warn Yisrael that no uncircumcised male may enter the Beis Hamikdash.

• The kohanim/levi’im who lead the nation to idol worship will not be permitted to bring sacrifices. Rather, they will be demoted to do maintenance.

• Yechezkel is to address the kosher kohanim who did not lead the nation astray, and reiterate the laws that apply to the kohanim. These kohanim are descendants of Tzaddok Hakohen.
