Yechezkel Perek 5

• Hashem commands Yechezkel to shave his head and beard. Radak and others say that Yechezkel saw this in a vision and didn’t actually shave off his beard and head, because Hashem wouldn’t command a prophet to go against the Torah.

• One third of the hair was to be burned in a fire in Yerushalayim when the siege had come to an end.

• One third of the hair was to be hit in Yerushalayim with a sword.

• One third of the hair was to be scattered around the world.

• Hashem relays a harsh prophecy about the destruction of Yerushalayim.

• “Parents will eat their children and children will eat their parents.”

• The Navi relates that further destruction will come upon the residents of Yerushalayim because “you have made the land impure.”
