Bullet Point Summary
Yechezkel Perek 9
-
Perek 9 is a continuation of Yechezkel’s out of body “top down” vision from the previous perek.
-
Six men came from up north to destroy the Beis Hamikdash with clubs in their hands.
-
Their leader was dressed in linen.
-
The Glory of God started to dismount from the Beis Hamikdash.
-
The man dressed in linen went through the street of Yerushalayim and marked all of their heads with the letter “Tav”. (Radak brings in Shabbos 55a for the explination of why the letter “Tav” was used’)
-
Those with the “Tav” on their foreheads were marked to live.
-
The man wearing linens went out to the residents in Yerushalayim.
-
Yechezkel was personally bothered by why Hashem had let this happen.
-
Hashem told Yechezkel that their sin was too great and needed a tikkun.
-
The man dressed in linens reported back to Hashem.
