• Because Yisrael put their trust in their diplomacy with Egypt, Yeshaya criticized them for not trusting in Hashem:

• Egypt will not help you in your time of need.

• Had you been calm, tranquil and had faith, Hashem would have saved you with minimal effort on your part. (Radak, Metsudos)

• Nevertheless, Hashem will have great mercy on Yisrael. Radak, Eben Ezra, Rashi: this is referring to the times of Mashiach, after the war of Gog u’Magog.

• Hashem will show Tzion and Yerushalayim great kindness.

• “Your Teacher (Hashem) will no longer be hidden from you, and your eyes will see your Teacher.”

• The moon will revert back to its original size, as it was at the time of creation, and it will shine with the same bright light as the sun.

• Hashem will heal the physically and emotionally ill people.

• Yeshaya prophesized the downfall of Sancheriv, the king of Ashur.
