• This perek is a prophecy about the future downfall of Bavel.

• Yeshaya compares Bavel to a princess who was mourning her father, sitting on the ground. (Malbim)

• “Our redeemer is Hashem, the Holy One of Yisrael.”

• Yisrael was given to Casdim to be punished by them. However, the Casdim punished Yisrael more severely than what was called for.

• None of Bavel’s black magic or sorcery will protect them from Hashem.
