Yeshaya Perek 53

Note: All the meforshim learn that the term servant refers to Klal Yisrael.

• Hashem has a servant who suffered throughout the long exile.

• This servant was disgraced, shamed, prosecuted, crushed, made sick and tortured by the nations of the world throughout his exile.

• The nations of the world thought the servant was inflicted, cursed and abandoned by Hashem. However, the gentile nations finally realized that they were the cause of Yisrael’s suffering, and that Hashem had never left them. (Radak)

• With the arrival of Mashiach, the servant will be raised from his denigrated state for all to see his greatness.
