Bullet Point Summary

Yirmiya Perek 3

Note: There are many different layers of meaning to the pesukim throughout Sefer Yirmiya. NachDaily just tries to capture the “raw data” of what the pesukim are saying.

Yirmiya prophesied that Yisrael had committed adultery with another “woman”. Radak: Klal Yisrael serving others gods and following their host nations’ ways is considered adultery throughout the entire Tanach.

Yisrael had “cheated” on Hashem. (Rashi, Metsudos) But even so, Hashem will still accept their teshuvah.

Yirmiya chastises the members of Yehudah for not learning a lesson from the northern kingdom of Yisrael to do teshuva before they, too, are exiled from Yerushalayim.

A prophecy about the final redemption:

One by one, family and individuals will begin to return to Eretz Yisrael. (Awesome, as we are watching this happening now, in front of our very own eyes!)

Ingathering of the exiles.

The nations of the world will unite to support Eretz Yisrael.

Yisrael and Yehuda will reunite.

The navi continues to relate how Yisrael had been “unfaithful” to Hashem.

In the end Yisrael will admit their sins.
